The book is above average in that it at least makes some attempt at provided the occasional hint of witth to a few concepts. If you like books and love to build cool products, we may be looking for you. Hardcoverpages. Beginner students will most likely hate this book.

I dare you to find a better calculus book! I would have to look up the solutions for the rest. I liked it better for Calc 3.

Thank you for teaching me calculus, calculus book. Probably one of the “better” calculus textbooks I’ve had to read and work from. Refresh and try again. This textbook breaks down the details with simple graphs and examples that is easy to read iwth understand.

However it is the most popular calculus book almost a unoffic This book has a diverse amount of example problems yet it requires a strong precalculus background. But regardless, this is an wonderful introductory textbook to calculus. Very detailed, easy to understand, and fantastic reference for the study of Calculus.

There are videos for showing the solutions to odd numbered problems, and there are section quizzes. Glad with my ug professors’ choices.

Colorful and franscendentals pictures ease the learning. For example, If I tried to do all odd problems in a section, I could When it comes to math books at the calculus level and beyond, I feel like none are really at the elementary level. Aw, such fond memories. For example, Wih I tried to do all odd problems in a section, I could only do less than I quite liked this edition. He has written a number of textbooks, notably on calculus. Because we have google for reference, right? Ultimately it is a good book for examination practice but yet I suppose I would perfer tranwcendentals different kind of book, it is not my taste in math books. Its strange that parametric equations are actually included yet it is a precalculus topic.

You are not going to dtewart reading it like you’d like reading Spivak’s Calculus book, which is more like a tutorial not just reference manual and I gave it one star lesser than I have given to Spivak’s book. Clear, easy to understand, to the point.



This is my third semester with this book and I have to say, with one excellent teacher this book was an awesome supplement, and with two sucky teachers this book makes a wonderful substitute. This edition of James Stewart’s best-selling calculus book has been revised with the consistent dedication to excellence that woth characterized all his books.

Many of the exercises included had to do with interesting applications in other areas of math, physics, and engineering — much more fun than the standard “sliding-ladder” problem types that showed up in previous courses.

My mind stops at Trigonometry.

I have dabbled with quite a few and have somewhat sentimental opinions depending whether I enjoyed the course or not haha. Now that I’m done with calculus, this book is a great tool for brushing calculjs on it and can solve most of the problems in each section.

The examples used are theory based but yet the fundamentals of math theory proofs are not taught.
